My Make-up Haul: What Worked and What Failed

Shopping at just Walmart and Walgreen's, I purchased an assortment of cosmetics to try and rate.  My results are below. Please leave a comment if you have had experiences with these products, too. 

Product:  Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer
Initial Experience and Reaction:

• When it first squirted out, it was a clear liquid, then it was fine
• It has kind of a “glue smell” until you rub it in
• It is a perfect match to my skin
• I want it to cover up the veins in my eyelids, but it doesn’t
• Positive side effect: It seems to have a firming effect
• It seems to make it harder to blend my eyeshadow color
• Makes a significant difference in staying power during exercise

After a Few Weeks:

•  The more I have gotten used to it, the easier it is to blend. Now I don't even notice it. 
• I still really love it.

Product: Milani Earthy Elements Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
Initial Reaction:

• Love how soft it is
• Beautiful matte pigmentation
• Blends nicely

After a Few Weeks:

• I don't reach for this palette as much as I thought that I would
• The colors don't seem to look the same on me as as they do in the palette
• I don't regret buying it and will still continue to use it

 
Product: Cover Stick by Maybelline
Initial Reaction:

• Great for forehead acne
• Didn’t work for under my eyes (caked up)

After a Few Weeks:

• The only time I ever use this one is when I have REALLY bad acne because it gathers in the creases - especially around my nose.
• It is really hard to blend
• It sticks to dry skin

 
Product: Milani Color Statement Lipstick (09)
Initial Reaction:

• Goes on evenly
• Settles into the lines in my lips
• Smells amazing!

After a Few Weeks:

• I still use this lipstick, but usually on top of another lipstick
• I think the trick to this lipstick is that your lipsticks have to be REALLY, REALLY exfoliated, which is weird for a non-matte lipstick
• This one doesn't have amazing staying power. You will have to reapply it throughout the day.

 
Product: Wet N’ Wild Studio Eyeshadow Palette
Initial Reaction:

• Highly pigmented darker colors!
• Prefer lighter colors over the Milani colors

After a Few Weeks:

• I use this one almost every time that I do my make-up!!!
• I LOVE this one as much as I did when I first tried it!
• I highly recommend this product for someone on a budget.

 
Product: Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil
Initial Reaction:

• Creamy
• Sooooo black!
• Doesn’t tug on my eye
• Prefer it to the L’oreal Silk Kiss Me

After a Few Weeks:

• When I use this on my tight line, it transfers to my water line some of the time.
• Unlike L'oreal Silk Kiss Me, this pencil sharpens easily

 
Product: Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer
Initial Reaction:
-AMAZING, AMAZING results!!!!!!
- The product claims to promote lash health
-Hoping this one won’t flake
After a Few Weeks:

• I LOVE this stuff!!!!!!
• I haven't seen any improved "lash health".
• It stops my mascara from flaking!
• It makes my eyelashes look so much better in general!
